How is PureSecure different from my Cox or Xfinity app?
Your ISP app can pause the internet on a device, and that's about it. PureSecure blocks specific apps (like TikTok or Snapchat) while keeping school tools available, filters dark content at the network level on every device, and separates your smart home devices so a hacked camera can't reach your personal data. What is a Driveway Safety Scan?
We pull up to your home and scan your network from the outside, the same way an attacker would. You get a one-page report with a security grade (A through F), a list of exposed devices, and quick fixes we do on the spot. It's free with every subscription or $49 as a standalone visit. Learn more →
What is Internet of Things (IoT)?
Your everyday gadgets that connect to the internet, like doorbell cameras, smart TVs, thermostats, medical devices, printers, light bulbs, garage openers, RGB lights, and voice assistants.
Do I need to replace my ISP router?
Not always. We can harden your existing gateway or add UniFi access points for coverage and control. If you want separate networks for kids, guests, and smart devices, we'll configure them without breaking your internet.
What do you set up for parental controls?
Separate networks for Home, Kids, IoT, and Guests. Homework and bedtime schedules. App and website blocks. Guest QR codes. Device naming so rules stick to the right phone or console, not just any device that connects.
Can guests or my teenagers reach my home devices?
No. Guest Wi-Fi is completely isolated from your main network. It's blocked from reaching your personal devices and locked to filtered DNS. You can also schedule guest Wi-Fi to turn off at night.
How long does an install take?
Most homes: 90–150 minutes. Larger homes or wiring cleanup: 2–4 hours. We leave QR cards, labeled ports, and a simple cheat sheet so you know how everything works.
Do you help seniors with phones, TVs, and printers?
Yes — that's a big part of what we do. Patient, in-home help with smartphones, smart TVs, email, tablets, printers, streaming apps, and voice assistants. We leave written steps and a number to call. Learn about our Senior services →
What about security cameras and privacy?
Cameras live on a separate IoT network, blocked from your personal devices. They're only allowed to talk to their cloud services. We can set up local-only rules on request for extra privacy.
How many devices can your setup handle?
Plenty. Typical homes have 40–80 devices and that's easy. Bigger homes get multiple access points with wired or wireless backhaul so everything stays fast.
What's included in the quarterly tune-up?
We come back in person to boost signal in weak spots, clean up ghost devices (like duplicate iPhones from random MAC addresses), verify your security settings, and run a scan of your network from both inside and outside to make sure nothing suspicious has crept in since our last visit.
